Comments:
The date of this bicycle is based on the tubing and componentry. Currently available catalogues do not show the Tour de France model being made from this tubing, but in 1979, they do show this model being made from Columbus tubing, whereas Reynolds was used up until then. The colour is reminiscent of the La Redoute – Motobecane team bikes of 1979. The colour of the team bikes was later changed to dark blue.
The brake levers and chainrings have been drilled for lightening and a groove has been milled on the inside face of each crank and the sides of the stem, presumably for the same purpose, and grooves have been machined in the seat post too.
