I am looking for information to date this Helyett Speciale bike more precisely. It might just be late 1930s, but I consider 1940s more likely. The distinguishing features that might help are:
- The frame number 200163
- The upper tricolour band round the seat tube has the words Championnat de France, and the lower one the years 1931 – 1932 – 1934 – 1935 – 1936 – 1937
- The lugs?
- Reynolds 531 butted main tubes (presumably not available during the war years once stock ran out?)
- JEX? forks (and stays?) (fragment of decal on fork blade that could be part of a JEX decal)
- Simplex 3-speed Champion du Monde single roller derailleur
- Brakes – Helyett-branded but of ?? manufacture; aluminium alloy with quick releases
- Laroche Pouchois aluminium alloy rims (pour boyaux)
