Comments:
From 1980 to 1984, Motobecane supplied dark blue bikes like this to the La Redoute racing team. Replicas were sold to the public under the model names “Equipe Pro” or “Team Champion” (like this one) according to the market in which they were sold. All the information is that they were built in the same artisan workshop as the team bikes.

This bike is dated 1982 or later because that seems to be the year that the rear brake cable routing was changed and the front derailleur went from clamp-on to a brazed fitting. It is currently built close to the factory/team specification except for the saddle and seat post, as above.
